DONATIONS

Tithes and Offerings

Church members and adherents are encouraged to give as and when they can. A collection is taken during each and every worship service, as this is one act of worshipping God. This baseline continues uninterrupted…

Earmarking gifts

Sometimes, envelopes placed on the collection plate will be earmarked in a specific way. For example, for “TUSKA”, an orphanage that the Federation of Independent Anglican Churches of North America supports.

If donations are not earmarked by project but are directed to the Federation, they will enter the General Fund. The steering committee will then decide how to allocate these resources as they accumulate.

Gifts to the Federation

Donations can be earmarked to the Federation of Independent Anglican Churches of North America. In fact, the Federation has the charitable status which serves as an umbrella over its local churches. Collections taken in worship services normally enter that church’s budget, unless earmarked otherwise.

So, you are encouraged to add gifts to the Federation to meets its costs of functioning as well.

To use Interac for online donations, set up payment and enter this email address: __________. It is linked to the Federation’s bank account. Be sure to add a short explanation in the “Message” window on the Interac dashboard.

Corporate relations

The Federation may also receive occasional donations from companies and business women and men. The givers may not belong to the local church, or even attend any church. But they may want to support the conserving ethos that the Federation exists for.

Corporate Relations Desk

Any party interested in making a corporate donation to the Federation is encouraged to contact Mr Kent Wootton. He can answer any queries and tell you more about the Federation’s approved projects — as listed below.

Kent Wootton may be reached on mail.wfgroup@gmail.com.

Projects

From time to time, the steering committee of the Federation approves projects. This does not mean that they are fully funded, it means that the needs they address are recognized and the Federation stands with them. Any donations earmarked for a project will be passed on to the host of that project:

TUSKA — an orphanage in Kenya. Our funding pays for school fees and supplies to assure a good education for the orphans and vulnerable children.

Desmond Tutu Centre for Leadership — a youth ministry in South Africa. The focus is to build an on-line mentoring platform for C4L alumni, and others. Taking C4L training tools to a new level. The platform’s name will be Pocket Mentor.

Assembly of Lotus Eco Elise kits — youth job creation in South Africa. The first kit will be shipped from Canada then assembled by youth in South Africa, guided by an expert mechanic. The Lotus will be
sold to raise money to import a second kit, and so forth. Like Robin Hood, this takes from the rich to help the poor.

Export of innovative Canadian toys — a child-centered initiative for Africa. Transfer of technology from Canada to Africa is the focus. These are not computer toys, but durable toys for sporting fun. They are designed in Canada, but can be built in Africa for the delight of African children.

The Anglican checkerboard — strategic engagement with senior church leaders in the run-up to Lambeth 2032. The focus is to enable travel exchanges among senior Anglican leaders, to explore the way forward for the Anglican “checkerboard”, and to explore more technology-transfers from Canada to Africa.
